45 lab hours = 1.5 credits
Students will continue to develop skills in handling and interpreting general physical examination findings in large and small animals. Students will continue to progress toward mastery of psychomotor skills for surgery including opening and closing of an abdominal incision, clamping and ligating along with continuous and interrupted suture patterns. Students will place small and large animal catheters in models and perform live animal phlebotomy in small animals. Students will continue to improve their skills in writing medical records and be introduced to basic diagnostic techniques, hematology, urinalysis, cytology, and pathology.
